G.D. Lowe

Services for G.D. "Jiggs" Lowe, 83, of Memphis, TX, will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Hughs Memorial Chapel in Memphis, TX, with Tom Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mr. Lowe passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2007 in Vici, OK. He was born on May 16, 1923 in the Plaska Lodge area to the late Mr. J.H. Lowe and Mrs. Florence (Birdwell) Lowe. He lived in Lakeview, TX for many years before moving to Memphis. Jiggs was a World Ward II veteran and served overseas in Japan. He was a member of the VFW in Memphis and farmed in the Lakeview area until his retirement. Jiggs was a member of the Church of Christ. He resided in the Vici Nursing Home in Vici, OK for the past year. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Rickey Don Lowe on March 12, 1992; one grandson, John Wayne Lowe on November 30, 2000; his brother, Fred; and four sisters, Monnie Grant, Blanch Lowe, Mary Gordon and Wanda Robertson. He is survived by two daughters, Syreta Sharp and husband, Steve, of panhandle, TX and Brenda Hughes and husband, Boyd, of Woodward, OK; one sister, Barbara Bownds of Irving, TX; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Fairview Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 265, Memphis, TX 79245.
