Arturo Gandara

Arturo Gandara, 72, of Canadian, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in Canadian.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, August 26, 2022 at the Spanish Revival Center with Pastor Ramon Enriquez, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Arturo will be available for viewing starting at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Spanish Revival Center, 225 Cheyenne Ave. Canadian, TX 79014.

Arturo was born August 31, 1949 in Mexico to Isidro and Ester Gandara. He moved to United States in the early 70’s to begin working. In 1987, he moved his family from Mexico to El Paso, and in 2006 they made their home in Canadian. Arturo was a hard worker at whatever he did. He worked many years in farming and the oilfield, retiring at age 65. Arturo loved his wife, children, and grandchildren dearly and did everything possible to provide for them. He was very devoted to the church and loved to help the pastor in any way. Arturo was talented playing his guitar, accordion, and singing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Mario Gandara and Isidro Gandara.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa of the home; two daughters, Maria Isabel Cardenas and husband Javier and Rosa Gandara and husband Ramon Ponce, all of Canadian; a son, Martin Gandara and wife Miriam of Canadian; 9 grandchildren, Issac Salgado, Josue Gandara, Jennifer Gandara, Annette Gandara, Yolette Gandara, Juliette Gandara, Arturo Gandara, Fernanda Ponce, and Victoria Ponce; one great granddaughter, Ariella Gandara; and numerous brothers and sisters.
