Barbra Frances Koelzer, 83, of Wheeler, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 in Canadian.
Memorial graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 20, 2025 in Wheeler Cemetery with Pastor Marianne McGinnis officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Barbra was born March 1, 1942 in Ballinger to Francis and Ceceille Allison. She graduated from Nara Visa High School in 1960. On May 26, 1977, she married Gerald Francis “Jerry” Koelzer. They celebrated over 38 years of marriage before he passed away on July 1, 2015.
Barbra and Jerry moved to Wheeler in 1982 to start Arrow Water Well. She was secretary of the business until they sold the business in 2009. Barbra loved her community and served it well. She served on the Wheeler City Counsel for over 20 years. Barbra also served the Lord, always willing to help cook and serve bereavement meals with the Methodist Church ladies and she was a member of Cornerstone Church.
Barbra’s hobbies included gardening in her flower bed and maintaining a beautiful yard. She also was an accomplished seamstress, making many clothes for her family over the years. Her strong values were the glue that held her family together. She was a true lady and passed those same values on to her children. She loved her family and it showed with her kind and loving heart. Barbra could still be stern when needed, she was the type of person you would want on your side. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved to spoil each of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nita Gibbs; granddaughter, Katy Beth Coon; and a great grandson, Copeland .
Survivors include three sons, Shane Guest, Vincent Koelzer and wife Amy, and Greg Koelzer all of Wheeler; three daughters, Sherree Tevebaugh and husband Jess of Okemah, Oklahoma, Tracy Coots and Ray of Baird, and Valencia Meier and husband Peter of Friona; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Koelzer of Dalhart.
