Billy Ray Cannon, 85, of Canadian passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 in Canadian.

Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2019 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Gerhardt, pastor, and Rev. Rick Timmons, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Cemeteries under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Mr. Cannon was born August 21, 1933 in Reydon, Oklahoma. He attended schools in Canadian and has worked in the oilfield and ranching most of his life. He has lived in California, Kansas, Colorado, and finally moving back to Canadian in 1992. He met the love of his life, Tommie Lightfoot, in Godebo, Oklahoma; they married on May 28, 1989. Bill attended and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a proud Navy veteran, serving for 8 years. Bill enjoyed doing small woodworking projects, traveling, and fishing. His personality was very kind, and he never met a stranger. Bill will be missed dearly by his friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Ora Ramsey; and a son, William Tippy.

Survivors include his wife, Tommie of the home; daughter, Edie Cannon Davis and husband Brent of Amarillo; son, Eddie Cannon of Canadian; sons; Robert Tippy and wife April of Davenport, Oklahoma, James Tippy of Chico; and daughter Teresa Brady of Gage, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Ashleigh Sutton, Megan Marie Cannon, Brenna Davis, Kelsey Tippy, Trinity Tippy, Ellie Tippy, Randy Tippy, Chris Tippy, Tia Brady, Tierney Walker, Summer Tippy, Justin Tippy, Kayla Tippy, David Tippy, and Miranda Brady; 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Clarene Overall and husband Donald of Covington, and Lois Lightfoot of Graham; brother-in-law, Thomas Lightfoot and wife Norma of Tennessee; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorials can be made to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S. 4th, Canadian, Texas 79014; or Edward Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch, Canadian, Texas 79014.
