Bob received his BBA degree from West Texas State University in 1966.  He was a lifelong resident of Canadian.  Bob served as Hemphill County Justice of the Peace for 6 years and Hemphill County Judge for 28 years.  He married Cindy Neal on July 9, 1977, celebrating 45 years together.  Bob was a member and served as a Deacon at the Canadian Church of Christ.  He served as Chair of North Rolling Plains RC&D, representing the City of Canadian and North Rolling Plains RC&D on The Panhandle Regional Planning Commission.  Bob was a member of the Panhandle Information Network Board, served on the City Council for the City of Canadian, and was a member of the Canadian Volunteer Fire Department for 31 years.  He enjoyed woodworking and working with Cindy on home improvement projects.  Bob & Cindy are avid Canadian Wildcat fans, traveling many miles in support.

Those left to remember and celebrate Bob are his wife, Cindy Gober of Canadian; a daughter, Amber Gober of Addison; a son, Devin Gober and wife Alicia of Clinton, OK; 1 brother, Lloyd Gober of Lexington; a sister, Betty Keeton and husband Leonard of Wolfforth; and nieces and nephews.

Bob had a heart for children and has been blessed by them.  The children in his church and neighborhood families took time to chat in the yard, catch a ride on his scooter, and to learn how to work with the tools in his garage.  As those children became teenagers, they took the time to include him in their school activities and sports. Remember, he was an avid Wildcat fan.
