Brenda Perrin was surrounded by her family when she passed away on March 4, 2023, at the age of, 78, in Amarillo.

 

Graveside Services will be Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian with Mark Collins of Leedy, Oklahoma, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Brenda Kay Perrin was born on November 19, 1944, in Higgins, TX to Willora (Curry) Guffey and Marsen Franklin “Happy” Guffey. Brenda, her sister Linda, and brother Stan grew up in Perryton, TX. She graduated from Perryton High School in 1963. After graduation, Brenda married the love of her life, George Victor Perrin, on July 29, 1967, who then introduced a daughter, Kathleen, to her life. They welcomed their second child, Vic, in 1969. 

Brenda spent her career working as the secretary for the Hemphill County Justice of Peace and was later Hemphill County/District Clerk, where she retired. Brenda enjoyed her work & was very well respected by her peers .

Brenda was also known to many as “Nana”. If you knew her, you knew she had a deep love for her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to their sporting events and other school functions. Brenda’s favorite hobby was sewing, & particularly enjoyed sewing for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping, her plants, cooking, and fishing. Brenda was well known for her witty sense of humor and was always laughing. She was always happiest spending time with her friends and family. She was full of life and there was never a dull moment when she was around. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Willora and “Happy” Guffey, husband George Perrin, sister Linda Ivey, brother Stan Guffey, son -in -law Ronnie Tyree, and daughter -in -law Jackie Price. 

Cherishing the memories are her son, Vic Perrin; daughter, Kathleen Tyree; grandchildren, Erin Johnson, Ty and Elli Batie, Ethan and Katelyn Price, Ean Price and Alex Hamilton, Tyler Price, Jake Price, Bailey Price, Lelonie Holm, Michael and Denee Bechtel, Joshua and Nichole Tyree; and 16 great grandchildren. Brenda leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, and her beloved dog, Tequila. She will be deeply missed by many. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Brenda’s memory may be made to The Jackie Price Memorial Scholarship in care of Elli Batie at 8449 N 2030 Rd, Leedey, OK 73654.
