Deborah Jean Cannon “Debi” Starr 72, of Canadian passed away December 31, 2025, in Canadian.
No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements and final disposition are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Debi was born April 15, 1953, in Emit, Idaho to Lee Roy “Red” and Bernice Hoadley Roberts. She lived in Dumas for most of her life and graduated from Dumas High School. She came to Canadian in August 2007 to be closer to her family. Debi had many professions in her day and was even a Cross-Country Truck Driver for a time. She loved travelling and seeing many new, wonderful places. But her favorite occupation would be servicing the residents of Canadian at Robbins True Value. Debi loved her conversations with her customers and had a true kinship with her coworkers. She took so much pleasure in decorating the Christmas trees for the holidays and working in the greenhouse during the Spring season.
Debi loved spending time with her grandkids. She especially enjoyed passing the day fishing with them. But they could definitely get under her skin with a fixed game of Uno or Yahtzee!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Red and Bernice Roberts; a sister, Kathy Hamby; a brother, Jack Hoadley; and her best friend, Lisa Lopez.
Those left to cherish Deborah’s memory are her daughter, Kaye Watts of Canadian; granddaughter, Samantha Watts and Nicholas Ortiz of Amarillo; three grandsons, Colby Watts, Keagan Watts of Canadian, Nathan Watts of Nevada, Missouri.
