Donna entered this world on August 1, 1940 in Earth, Texas to Roy Oliver and Lena Maye Durant. She moved to Canadian as a young child when her dad was transferred by the Railroad. She attended and graduated from Canadian Schools and began her love for music as first chair clarinet in the high school band and becoming a pianist. For a time during high school she was a basketball cheerleader. Donna was married to Melvin Lee Walser on December 27, 1958, just before Melvin entered the Army.

Donna enjoyed raising her children and grandchildren; they were her pride and joy. She continued to enjoy playing the piano for many years. Often in the afternoon, the neighborhood would hear her playing her favorite piano tunes. Donna was an activate member of the Church of Christ while raising her family; many years as a class teacher and this love of the Lord continued thru her life. She enjoyed flowers of every kind, especially Iris' and Daffodils.

Later in life, Donna became employed by Hemphill County as Deputy Clerk to the County Clerk’s office. Donna was often complimented on her efficiency and her willingness to help locate county records. She became ill in the Fall of 2021, when she moved to Amarillo and lived for a short time at Five Points Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Heaven gained a beautiful, kind, loving soul, and will be missed deeply by her family and many friends who knew her.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Maxine Kondratas and Billie Mayse.

She is survived by her children, Katrina Pendergrass, Gwendolyn Sappenfield and husband Kent, and Melvonna Collier and husband Brent all of Amarillo, John Charles Walser and wife Laura of Canadian, and Robert Walser and wife Tina of Midlothian; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
