Doris Jean Paty was born May 2, 1929, in Shattuck, OK to Melvin Paty and Mamie Word Paty.  She graduated from Higgins High School and soon married Hugh Russell Landers.  Doris was a hard worker. She assisted Russell in running their business, Landers Oil Co., by keeping books and at times driving a vehicle for him.  Doris enjoyed being a wife and mother.  She could be counted on to drive kids to ballgames and school activities.  It wasn’t unusual for country kids to spend the night at the Landers home after a late game.  Her home was open to anyone who needed a place to stay.  Doris’ love for following school sports and activities carried on with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Docilis Club.  Doris enjoyed sewing, cooking, and family get-to-gathers.  After moving to Mesa View Assisted Living, she enjoyed viewing pictures received from her family on her iPad.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Mamie; her husband, Russell; and a sister, Nell Bettis.

Survivors include one daughter: Shirley Wiederstein and husband Steve; two sons: John Landers and wife Louise and Paul Landers and wife Janet, all of Higgins; grandchildren: Hugh Landers and wife Lacey, Melissa Shuman and husband Greg, Justin Landers, Meghan Cox and husband A.J., Jennifer Appel and husband John, Hunter Landers and wife Erin; great grandchildren: Caitlin Christenson and husband Allan, Molly Landers, Max Shuman, Landry Appel, Lilah Appel, Addie Appel, Reid Landers, Elisabeth Landers, Ali Cox, Amelia Cox, James Landers, Ashlee Pilcher and husband Bret and Rylee Shyock; and a sister: Joy Ridgway and husband Phil.
