Elise was born on March 16, 1941, in Wheeler, Texas. She attended grade school in Wheeler and Canadian before graduating from Canadian High School with the Class of 1959. Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, Dell Krehbiel, on April 17, 1960. Together they made their home on the Washita Ranch, where Dell began his career and continues to work today. It was there and later in Canadian, that they built a life together, creating a home filled with love, hard work, and cherished memories.
Elise loved the holidays and gathering of her family. Her family was everything to her. She was inseparable with her twin sister, Genise. Elise was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many. Not only did her grandchildren call her “Shug”, but the community also adopted that name for her.
Elise was a talented artist who had a gift for painting and a love for creativity. She also enjoyed cooking for those she loved; her cinnamon rolls and chocolate cake were simply the best. One of her greatest joys was following the Canadian Wildcats and Lady Cats, especially when it meant cheering on her grandchildren in their many activities. She rarely missed an opportunity to support them and took great pride in each of their accomplishments.
She was an old school southern lady who was always classy in everything she did. Elise was also strong in her faith in God and instilled that in her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cicero and Ila Thelma Craig; son, Matt Ray Krehbiel; four half-sisters, Dorris Wheeler, Eris Porter, Wanda Wilson, and Peggy Lewelling
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Dell Krehbiel; daughter, Courtney Trolinger and her husband Keith; daughter, Molly Kerrigan and her husband Michael; son, John Sam Krehbiel and his wife Kendra; twin sister, Genise Young and her husband Lee all of Canadian, Texas; grandchildren, Cooper Trolinger, Olivia Trolinger, Sawyer Cook and fiancé Savannah Yonge, Caroline McBryde and husband Kade, Isabelle Krehbiel, Jake Krehbiel, and Samantha Krehbiel; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many close friends.
