Fernando "Freddie" Valenzuela

Fernando “Freddie” Valenzuela, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on July 8, 2022, at his home in Higgins.

Memorial graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Higgins Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Freddie was born March 6, 1944, in San Luis, Mexico to Fernando Hool and Alicia Eugenia De la Torre.  He married Luz Rivas in 1970, they moved to the United States in 1971, Freddie became a US citizen in 1975.  Freddie was an outgoing man that loved to travel in Mexico and the US. He was passionate about his family, interested in antique cars, baseball, and boxing.  While living in Mexico, Fernando was a Golden Glove Boxer.  He worked in the oilfield as a tool pusher, a driller, and a company man.  Freddie was loved and adored by his Hool family.

Freddie was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Luz Valenzuela of Higgins; children, Fernando “Freddie” Valenzuela and wife Kerri of Canyon, Chuy Valenzuela and wife Kimberly of Lubbock, Alex Valenzuela & wife Jennifer of Canyon, Vanessa Gurney and husband Eddi of Shallowater; 12 grandchildren: Trey, Chynna, Alysia, Phoenix, Taylor, Kenzie, Addison, Emma, Parker, Brayden, Evan, Kenlee; many brothers and sisters and numerous nieces & nephews.
