Jimmie Faye Cooper, 89, formerly of Canadian passed away on October 23, 2026 in Booker.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Jimmie was born November 21, 1936, to William and Ida Lou Sharp in Dalhart. She married Harrold Dean Cooper February 20, 1962, and he preceded her in death on August 28, 2012.
Just days shy of her 90th birthday, Jimmie leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful memories and a family that was truly her greatest pride and joy. She loved reading, cooking, and spending time with those she held dear, especially her grandchildren. Some of the family's most treasured memories are of sitting on the kitchen counter, visiting her while she cooked. Those simple moments, filled with conversation, laughter, and love, became memories that will be cherished for generations.
Above all else, she was devoted to her family. Her blended family of four children and their spouses, eight grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren was her proudest accomplishment. She was a true "momma bear," fiercely protective, endlessly loving, and always wanting the very best for those she loved. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by family, and she took great pride in watching her family grow through the years.
Although Jimmie had many health challenges during her later years, those could never diminish the lifetime of love and memories she had given her family. As she approached her 90th birthday, her life was already a beautiful celebration of nearly nine decades of love, laughter, and family. Her legacy will live on through the generations she helped raise, the traditions she created, and the countless memories made in the warmth of her kitchen and the comfort of her love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Zachary Scott Cooper, and her daughter-in-law, Monica Cooper
She is survived by two sons, Billy Dean Cooper of Poteet and Derek Cooper and wife Martha of Canadian; two daughters, Kayleen Cooper Lyons and husband Roger of Fritch and Rhonda Kincl and husband James of Mont Belvieu; grandchildren, Kristina Karabinos, Casey Cooper, Charles Scott Thompson, Danielle Martin, Michael Ishmael, Colton Cooper, Rachel Bentley, and Joshua White; many beloved great and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Margaret Fuhr and husband Roger, DeeAnn Neuffer and husband Carl, and Leslie Ashlock.
