Justo Macias, 94, of Canadian, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022, in Canadian. He loved the Lord and his family, proudly served in the US Army and was a wonderful neighbor and friend.

Liturgy of the Word Services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the Carmichael-Whatley Canadian Chapel with Father Marco Antonio Gonzalez. The burial will follow at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Justo Macias was born May 14, 1928, at the family farm in Hemphill County to Pablo and Juventina Macias. He attended a one room school, Blue Ridge, in the Gem Community and then went to Canadian to complete his school career. Justo served with the US Army in Japan and Korea. He married Janice Ramos September 12, 1953. Justo farmed and ranched in the GemCommunity in Hemphill County. He loved to ride horses, play the guitar, sing, write poetry and spend time with his grandchildren. He was very talented and could mechanic, weld, and build almost anything. In later years, he loved woodworking, drawing, making puzzles, carving farm tractors and implements.

Justo was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Juventiana; and wife, Janice in 2003, and many other family members preceded him in death.  He was really looking forward to a wonderful heavenly reunion.

Survivors include three sons, Ralph Macias and wife Paula of Perryton, Danny Macias of Canadian and Rory Macias and wife Lori of Canadian; a sister, Eblan Hernandez of Houston; 7 grandchildren, Katrina, TJ, Johnny, Joshua, Jacob, Justo Aaron, and Daniel; numerous, much-loved great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Public viewing will be Wednesday morning, December 28, 2022, 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home in Canadian.

Memorials may be made to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S. 4th,
Canadian, TX 79014.
