Loreta” Purple” Eldora McMullen Morgan, 92, of Canadian stepped into the arms of Jesus Friday, December 30, 2022, in Canadian.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at the Carmichael-Whatley Canadian Chapel with Donald Hill officiating; burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Loreta “Purple” Eldora McMullen Morgan was born June 20, 1930, in Llano to Richard and Sibyl Edmonson McMullen. Loreta married Bill Joe Morgan, the love of her life, on July 29, 1950, in Lubbock. Purple was active in DAR, a volunteer at River Valley Pioneer Museum, a member of the Hemphill County Historical Committee, and Genealogy Club. She enjoyed Wednesday lunches with the Lunch Bunch, anything purple, books and reading, playing dominoes and canasta. Purple was a member of the Church of Christ and was baptized in her childhood in the Llano River. She enjoyed a close relationship with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, two sons: Richard and Steve, a sister Annilee Kniffen,a brother Kenneth McMullen and a special niece, Ann Cosner.
Survivors include a daughter, Melanie Pittman and husband Burl of Canadian; daughter-in-law, Nancy Davis of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Cody Pittman and wife Clydene of Canadian, B.J. Morgan and girlfriend Cindy Newson of Wichita Falls, Amber Leach and husband Colby of Canadian, Cory Pittman and wife Elizabeth of Canadian; great-grandchildren, Avery Leach, Dylan Leach, Coy Pittman, Colt Pittman, Ryan Leach, Cambree Pittman, Addison Pittman and Ainsley Pittman; special niece, Kathy Laney.
