Margaret Joann Billings 82 of Canadian, stepped into her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in Canadian.

 Memorial Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian with Pastor Donald Hill, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

 Margaret Joann Billings was born June 17, 1942, in San Francisco, CA to Ray and Ella Maupin. She married Darrell Wayne Billings on June 26, 1959, in Garden City, Kansas and remained his bride until his passing in 2017.

Joann was a special kind of lady. She brought light into the room when she walked in with a huge smile and a twinkle in her eyes! Joann brought so much joy to so many people. She loved baking, sewing and “piddlin”, especially sitting on the porch and having a good visit. Joann’s greatest joy was her family and she never let a chance go by without telling them.

Joann was also preceded by her parents, Ray and Ella Maupin; brother, Steve Maupin; sister, Mary Grible; and other extended family members.

Joann is survived by her children, Crystal Payne and husband Jack of Amarillo, Venus Fairchild and husband Bucky of Amarillo, Darrell Billings and wife Faith of Canadian, her little dog Sadie of the home; brother, Gary Maupin and wife Betty of Shamrock; 7 grandchildren, Dusty Billings and wife Ashley of Canadian, Samantha Billings of Canadian, Wesley Sloat and wife Crystal of Amarillo, Rusty Sloat and wife Rae Lyn of Borger, Ashley Montano and husband Cameron of Amarillo, Tobi Helton of Amarillo, and Nichole Bartlett and husband Jeremy of Lubbock in addition to 15 great-grandchildren who all brought her immense joy during her life. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.

 Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
