Mary Sue Willyard

Mary Sue Thomas Willyard, 81 of Higgins passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023, at her home in Canyon.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, February 3, 2023, at the Higgins Cemetery in Higgins, with Dale Jenkins, officiating. Burial and arrangements are under the directions of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Mary Sue Thomas Willyard was born January 12, 1942, in Higgins to Eldridge E. Thomas and Mary Lois Bucher Thomas. She attended Higgins schools and graduated with the class of 1960.  Mary Sue married RB Willyard on September 16, 1961, in Amarillo, he preceded her in death on November 18, 2008.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Higgins Lumber Yard and the Higgins Implement Company for approximately 20 years.  This set her destiny to be the bookkeeper for RB’s Welding and RB’s Used Cars. 

Mary Sue was also preceded in death by her parents, Eldridge and Mary Thomas; 2 sisters, Patsy Thomas and Margie Thomas Barton.

Survivors include daughter, Patty Willyard and partner Becky Fleming, and her children, Parker and wife Hanna Fleming, Payton Holtkamp and husband Clayton and son Canon; a bonus son, Dutch Mulkey and wife Jenny and family; nephews, Todd Barton and wife Melanie and family, Clayton Barton and wife Cindy and family; and a special 4 legged companion, Little Bit.
