Nathan Thomas Patton, known to everyone as Nate, was born on January 8, 1978, in Amarillo, Texas, the son of BJ and Sue Patton. He grew up in Canadian, where he made lifelong friendships and lasting memories. Nate graduated from Canadian High School in 2000.
Nate had a gift for bringing people together. He loved to party, mingle, and socialize with anyone and everyone who would make faces with him, always lighting up a room with his positive attitude and infectious energy. He was a fan of reading car magazines, flipping through pictures, and riding the back roads of Hemphill County in The Truck. His favorite things—ZZ Top, an ice-cold Dr. Pepper, and anything purple—were constants in his life and symbols of his unique personality.
Nate is survived by his mother, Sue Patton; his Nana, Betty Yauck; brother and sister-in-law, Cole and Susan Patton; “adopted brother” Ben Riverman and his family; uncle and aunt, Greg and Lisa Yauck; cousin, Claire Yauck Walsh; and her sons, Henry and David; as well as a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, BJ Patton, his uncle, Todd Yauck, and his grandparents, Dave Yauck, Jack Patton, and Florence Patton.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that any donations be made in Nate’s name to the Canadian Community Center, 905 East Cheyenne, Canadian, Texas 79014, or the Mesa View Assisted Living Activity Fund, 1 Teas Circle, Canadian, TX 79014.
