Opal I. Evans

Opal I. Evans, 90, of Canadian, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 in Canadian.

Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Canadian Chapel with Pastor Donald Hill, pastor of The River Ministries, officiating.  Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Opal was born March 20, 1930 in Reydon, Oklahoma to John and Ruby Isch. She graduated from Reydon High School in 1948 and married Rondal “Sparky” Evans on December 4, 1948.  He preceded her in death on October 6, 2013.  They moved to Canadian in 1967 from Lipscomb. Opal was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking.  She attended The River Ministries.

Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Mauricio and husband Joe of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 2 sons, Ronnie Evans of Higgins and Robbie Evans of Canadian; a sister, Elsie Leonard of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; 2 grandsons, Brian Gallardo of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Travis Mauricio of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 3 great grandchildren, Cambry Mauricio, Rayven Gallardo, and Kynlee Mauricio.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother and sister.
