Randy was born December 10, 1959, in Pampa to Shirley and Dennie Bowerman. He and family lived in Miami during his early years and was baptized in the Miami Baptist Church. His dad played in a softball league and Randy developed a love of sports at an early age. After his parents’ divorce, Shirley and Randy moved to Canadian where he resided the rest of his school days. During this time, Randy gained a stepfather, James Flowers.

Randy was an avid sports fan and especially loved football. He played for the Canadian Wildcat football team, and his senior year was selected to play in a high school all-star game in Childress. Also, during his senior year, he signed a letter of intent to play football for Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma. Randy eventually transferred to Lubbock Christian University where he continued playing football until a knee injury ended his football career.

Randy loved horses and cattle and worked for a period of time as a feedlot cowboy on the south plains. He later lived on his mother’s land and cared for a herd of cattle and maintaining the property until his health forced him to return to Canadian. Randy was married for a few years and as a result he inherited a step-grandson, Paul Baker. Paul came to live with Randy and Shirley as a toddler and lived with them until he moved with his biological family few years ago.

Randy loved the older country and western music and loved to play his guitar and sing. The last two and half years he was a resident of Wheeler Nursing and Rehab in Wheeler. Randy continued to provide entertainment through his music to the other residents and staff, until he was no longer able to play.

Randy had several friends there and the staff loved him.

Randy was preceded in death by grandparents and parents, Dennie Bowerman, Shirley & James Flowers.

Those left to cherish Randy’s memory are his Step-Grandson Paul Baker of Muldrow, Oklahoma; cousins, Charles and Mary Alice Roberts of Shamrock, Connie and Terry Farrar of Wheeler and Debbie and David Simpson of Lela; and numerous other family members.

Memorials can be sent to Wheeler Nursing Home, 1000 Kiowa St, Wheeler, TX 79096 or a charity of your choice.
