Robert Allan Clark, 86 of Miami, took his final flight on Sunday, April 14, 2024, in Canadian. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

 

Robert Allan Clark was born August 11, 1937, in Pampa in the Worley Hospital to Willis and Adelia Clark. He earned a BS in Agronomy from Texas Tech in 1960. While at Tech he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, the Texas Tech Agricultural and Agronomy Clubs. Robert served in the US Army and Army Reserves. He was a Pilot and aviation enthusiast, a member of the OX 5 Aviation Pioneers and the Miami Flying Club. Robert was a nature lover and dedicated steward of the land serving on the Board of Directors for the Panhandle Groundwater Conservation District and a founding member of STAND, Serious Texans Against Nuclear Dumping. He was a rancher, dryland farmer, owner/operator of the Robert Clark Ranch, heavy  equipment operator, working cowboy, member of the Miami Men’s Sr. Club, Lions Club, Amarillo Jaycees and Crossroads Church.  

 

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Adelia Sue Cowan Clark and Willis N. Clark; brother, Charles Clark, and 2 sons, Douglas Robert Clark, and Daniel Taylor Clark.

 

Those left to share Robert’s memory are his wife, Penni Clark of Miami; children, Jennifer Wheeler and husband Kevin of Miami; Shelly and husband William Harmon, Denise Signs and wife Marie Tapp; brother, William Clark and wife Jackie; sister, Susan Kessee; grandchildren, Shawree, Ashley, Kyle, Alexandra, Bailee and Amber; great-grandchildren, Caden, Annastasia, Eli, Olivia, Everly, Madison, Bohdi, Rhett, and one on the way; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

 

The family would like to thank Canadian Hospital Hospice for the gracious, dignified, loving care they gave, and the Mesa View Senior Care Staff for showing gentle, loving care during our beloved father and husband’s last days.
