Tara Starre Folk, 46, of Canadian passed into her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 25, 2025, in Canadian, TX surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Church of Christ of Canadian with Minister Delbert McLoud, officiating. Interment will follow at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery.
Tara Starre Baileys Folk was born September 23, 1979, in Canadian to Clifford Baileys and Tammye Scroggins Baileys. She accepted Christ and was baptized at the Canadian Church of Christ when she was a teenager. She graduated from Canadian High School with the Class of 1998. Tara married the love of her life, Justin Folk, on June 20, 1998, at the Church of Christ of Canadian. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2001.
Tara loved to care for and serve others. She worked at Rachael’s Little House for many years providing care for the community’s children. After leaving childcare she began her career and passion as a CNA, spanning 16 years, providing care at Edward Abraham Memorial Home which later moved into the Mesa View Senior Living. Tara also worked as a full-time CNA at Parkview Hospital in Wheeler since February 2017. She was a full-time employee at both Mesa View Senior Living and Parkview Hospital. Tara had a big heart for all her residents and patients. Almost daily the residents would ask “Is Tara working today? Is Tara here?” She was honored as the Edward Abraham Memorial Home Employee of the Month in April of 2019 shortly before her fight began with colon cancer in July of 2019. She continued to work two full-time jobs during the 6 years she battled the disease. Tara dearly loved her family, journaling and crocheting.
In addition to her husband Justin Folk, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Tommy and Janice Scroggins.
Those left to cherish Tara’s memory are her son, Brendan Thomas Folk of Mannford, OK; her mother, Tammye O’Neal of Canadian; her father, Clifford Baileys and wife Vanessa of Edmond, OK; a brother, Neil Baileys and wife Amber of Canadian; a sister, Johnnye Page of Canadian; four nieces, two nephews and one great niece.
