Troy LaVern Patton, 75, of Canadian passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023, in Oklahoma City, OK.

 

The family will receive visitors at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors in Canadian, Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

 

Graveside services will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Barry Hosford, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

 

Troy LaVern Patton was born March 10, 1947, in Paducah.  He grew up on a family farm outside of Guthrie.  Following high school Troy went to West Texas State University and received a BA in Business Administration.  His first job was as a Hospital Administrator in Paducah.  Troy was the Hospital Administrator in Tahoka when he met the beautiful Nurse Norma. They were married August 31, 1974, in Lubbock, the two were a great team for 48 years.  Troy served as Hospital Administrator in Floydada before moving to Canadian in 1977 to serve as Administrator for Hemphill County Hospital.  In the early 80’s Troy became an Independent Insurance Agent with United American Insurance.  He served on the Hospital Board, Chamber of Commerce Board and was an active member of the community.  Troy was an avid Canadian Wildcat fan and followed the Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball.  He enjoyed studying history and doing family genealogy.  Troy was a people person and loved visiting with those he met.  He was a devoted and loving family man.   Troy was preceded in death by the love of his life, Norma on January 15, 2022. He was also preceded by his parents, William & Frankie Patton; sisters, Nina Ruth Daniels, Joy Torian; niece, Pam Bell.

 

Survivors include Daughter, Jeanna Patton and wife Rachel Baker of Kansas City, MO; Son: Chad Patton and fiancé Elizabeth Eggers of Tucson, AZ.,  Nieces, Karen Dean of Lubbock and Jennifer Allen of Dallas; Nephew: Scott Allen of San Angelo; Sister-In-Law, Goldie & Jimmy Allen of Midland TX.
