A proud Texan through and through, Gena’s life journey took her from her birthplace of Pampa, Texas through her true hometown, Canadian, and to the towns of Brenham and Katy, where she spent her later years surrounded by family.
Gena was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Tubb, and son, Mike Tubb.
Gena was the beloved mother of Teresa Abbott and devoted mother-in-law to Jay Abbott. She was the cherished grandmother of Reid Abbott and his wife Kacie, and Julie Williams and her husband Thomas. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren – Macayla, Wyatt, Hannah, Molly, and Ben – each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
A true matriarch, a natural peacemaker, and the family devoted historian, Gena anchored her family with strength, generosity, and unwavering love. She embraced the hard but rewarding life of a wife of a rancher and farmer, a role that reflected her grit, independence, and deep respect for the land. Those who knew her will remember her for her steady wisdom and the steadfast spirit that shaped generations.
Gena’s life was a testament to resilience, devotion to family and a heart that gave freely. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her influence will endure in the lives of all who loved her.
