Winona Stephenson

Winona Stephenson, 89, of Booker passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026 in Booker.

Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 21, 2026 at The River Ministries in Canadian with Pastor Donald Hill and Vicky Bragg officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Winona was born on January 11, 1937 in Canadian to Roy and Frankie Wheeler. She was one of six kids, Melvin Wheeler, Opal Kent, Willa Dean Sorenson, Kenneth Wheeler, and Norma Carr. Winona grew up and attended Canadian schools before moving to Missouri, South Dakota, Eufaula, Oklahoma and later in life to Booker. She loved having family get togethers that always included Wahoo games.

Survivors include her three children, Kirby Stephenson of Booker, Kathy Hubbart of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Rhonda Wheeler of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; numerous great grandkids; and two great great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers for their love and care of Winona.
